How to use this tool and how your document is handled
This tool is designed to help reduce identifying information in documents before you use AI services to assist with report writing or document generation. It is provided by Flourish Assessment & Consultancy.
How to use it
- Make sure you have the client's appropriate consent for the way you plan to use AI.
- Load a Word, PDF or text document.
- Review the highlighted changes. Untick anything that should stay, and add anything the tool missed.
- Check the Possible names and Your call sections. Those items stay in unless you tick them.
- Open Preview Changes and read it from start to finish.
- Confirm your review, then copy or save the result.
- Select Clear everything when you finish.
How your document is handled
This tool runs in your web browser. Your document is read and processed on your device. It isn't uploaded to Flourish or sent to an AI service by this tool, and it isn't saved after you close the page. Your browser remembers only that you accepted this notice. Standard website logs may record visits to this page, such as the time and IP address, but they do not include the contents of any document you load.
How text is replaced
The tool uses fixed rules, not AI. It looks for names, dates, addresses, schools, services, contact details and ID numbers, and suggests replacements such as [Client]. You review the suggested changes before exporting.
What it can't do
It can miss details, and it doesn't change a person's story. A rare combination of family, school, job or events may still identify someone. Don't treat the result as anonymous.
Your responsibilities
It is your responsibility to ensure you have obtained the client's appropriate consent regarding the use of AI. Using this tool doesn't remove your need to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of client materials, or your obligations under the Psychology Board's code of conduct and the Privacy Act. You remain responsible for what you share, for checking the terms of any AI service you use, and for reviewing all outputs.
